My better half is just that

Earlier this year we were told she had tested positive for the BRCA2 gene mutation.

Living in the shadow of her family history she responded as she always does -- as a working professional and as a triathlete -- she researched, she strategized, she planned, she consulted with professionals, she took control of her situation, she took action. She didn't care what people thought. She did what was right for her. An oophorectomy in March. Back on the bike trainer 12 days after surgery. She recovered. She swam. She biked. She ran. She raced. A full slate - 8 races May to November including two Sprint course PRs, a Half Ironman PR, a Half Marathon PR, and a 10 Mile road race PR.

How does she find the time and mental balance for her health, training, racing, work, travel? How does she put up with a terribly immature training partner?

The race season is officially over. The training continues. One more surgery to endure.

Go Jen go.
