Tomorrow by this time I will (hopefully) be rid of these expanders and on my way to recovery for the last time. Who ever thought that finding out my BRCA2 status on January 9, 2013, would lead to three surgeries in less than one year. BUT, it will all be worth it for the chance to live a longer, healthier life. I look forward to a spring and summer (if winter ever decides to loosen its grip on Chicago) without the fear of breast cancer hanging over my head.
So, I've pulled the button-down shirts back out and have my Spanx ready to go. I'll enjoy one more week of Kelly & Michael while in a Norco-induced haze. And then I will finally, finally be at the finish line.
Surgery is scheduled for 8:30/9am and should take 2-3 hours. Thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers! It means the world to us!
