Why, hello 2011!

2011 is off to a good start.  We kicked off the year with a swim at FFC bright and early yesterday morning.  We were the first ones in line outside the gym....guess we were a little over-anxious!  I did 1900 yards, the most I have attempted since returning from my break.  And my form felt much better too.  I'm still getting fatigued by about 1000 yards, but making progress!  Today I got in a good hour of biking on our new CycleOps trainer.  The legs were tired to start (200 yards of kicking yesterday!), but warmed up really nice after about a half hour.  It's about time to increase the intensity, I think.  So far so good, but we'll see how things go once it's back to reality (and the stresses of work) this week!

The MAJOR focus for me this week is straightening out my nutrition.  I weighed in yesterday in order to have a starting point for the year.  Let's just say I'm at my heaviest weight in oh.....EVER.  That's no good, but I've got a plan.  I'm food logging Sun-Mon-Tues for the sports RD I'm going to be working with.  Then Wed-Thurs-Fri I'm going to start weaning myself off caffeine, sugar and other processed goodness.  Saturday, Jan. 8, starts a 14-day cleanse.  Ooh....this is going to be hard, but it is so necessary.  And the results will be well worth it, I'm sure!

I'll check back in this week and let you know how the workouts and nutrition are coming along once I'm back at work.  Happy New Year!

Glad I'm not the only one! I am the heaviest I've ever been too! I gained 10lbs in two weeks and it's staying on. I started a cleanse on Jan. 1 that well, didn't work. I looked like I had a bloated whale in my stomach. Today I started a different cleanse supported by my pilates instructor. Three shakes a day, one veggie, on fruit, two snack bars and supplements. I'm starving. I cut out the Coca-Cola a Jan. 1 so I know of these headaches you talk. Keep it up!
